Fruit and Veg Processing Staff

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fruit and Vegetable Processor to join our team. As a Fruit and Vegetable Processor, you will be responsible for processing various fruits and vegetables, ensuring they are cleaned, prepared, and packaged according to quality standards. Additionally, cleaning duties are an essential part of this role to maintain a sanitary and organized work environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Processing Fruits and Vegetables**:

- Wash, peel, slice, and chop fruits and vegetables as per production requirements.
- Sort and inspect fruits and vegetables to ensure quality and freshness.
- Measure and weigh ingredients accurately for processing.
- **Operating Equipment**:

- Operate and maintain processing equipment such as slicers, peelers, and dicers.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
- **Packaging and Labeling**:

- Package processed fruits and vegetables into containers or bags according to specifications.
- Label products with accurate information including expiry dates and batch numbers.
- **Quality Control**:

- Monitor product quality throughout the processing stages.
- Discard any items that do not meet quality standards or are damaged.
- **Cleaning and Sanitizing**:

- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly and daily to maintain hygiene standards.
- Dispose of waste and empty trash receptacles as needed.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Assist in inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.

**Requirements**:

- High school certificate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in food processing or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to operate processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.

**Salary**: R4 500,00 - R5 000,00 per month
