Warehouse Supervisor

**PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION**
The Core function is to oversee the finished goods warehouse operations daily with the aim to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, storing goods, managing inventory levels, monitoring staff productivity, securing the warehouses, and ultimately ensuring efficient and timeous delivery of goods
**JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Supervisory activities**
Ensure daily staff attendance are monitored.
Responsible for developing, coaching, and mentoring team.
Responsible for a disciplined workforce / resolving conflict in an amicable manner and in accord with the company policies and procedures.
Continuous interaction with co-workers and subordinates to ensure that deadlines and goals are achieved.
Initiate cycle counts and ensure the validity of physical counts.
Coordinating stock takes monthly to ensure validity of physical stock.
ensure all system transactions are updated and closed off by relevant people daily on WMS and ERP.
Oversee the management of the company CHEP account and pallet banks.
To optimize services and to reduce costs by ensuring acceptable performance standards and to minimize damages.
Promoting the company values and instilling motivation.
Must have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouses contribute to this
Provides advice and support to other departments on planning, inventory control and warehouse matters.
Initiate cost improvement projects based on continuous improvement.
Manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers and internal facilities, communicating with warehouse supervisors and team leaders to ensure efficient delivery of goods.
Ability to supervise a staff compliment of +/- 40 people
**Safety and Housekeeping**
Responsible for the safeness of employees and the applicable equipment used in the area.
Responsible for good housekeeping and safe working environment in all FG warehouses.
Ensure the adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Management system as per OSHACT 85 of 1995.
Carry out investigations into any accidents or near-miss incidents.
Carry out internal Health and Safety Audits as and when required.
- Ensure that the department is always ISO compliant, and all findings are resolved timeously
**Inbound Tasks**
Enforce the use of using correct staging lanes for inventory being received.
Ensure stock being returned by transporters and drivers is checked and accompanied by a POD.
Check that stock being returned matches the debrief documentation.
All returned stock needs to be inspected and communicated to Manager
**Outbound Tasks**
Receive and collate Picking tickets.
Allocate Picking tickets to Team leader / warehouse staff
Enforce that all outbound loads are staged accordingly in relevant staging area.
Enforce blind counts on all DC and replenishment deliveries.
Ensure that orders are picked and checked accurately.
Ensure all relevant documentation is completed, (CHEP, Vehicle Inspection Sheet, Security Seals)
Ensure all invoicing is completed and posted on WMS and company ERP
Ensure all export documentation is completed.
Ensure stock being dispatched is clean and damage free (on time, quantity, and quality).
**Warehouse**
Ensure that all relevant warehouse procedures are being adhered to.
Ensure all visual dashboards (pallets, stock, shunting, loads etc.) are updated daily.
Generate Warehouse reports and submit to company key stakeholders daily.
Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and managing all Material Handling Equipment and providing reports to management weekly.
Conduct general warehouse inspections and complete site audits weekly.
Create job cards for all required maintenance and track to completion.
Creation of CAR’s, OPL’s and warehouse SOPs.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED**
- Have sound knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles.
- Knowledge of import and export procedures and principles.
- Knowledge regarding Financial Management.
- Knowledge regarding Project Management.
- Knowledge of the South African FMCG industry would be beneficial.
- Analysing information and using logic to address work related issues and problems.
- Conversant with relative legislation regarding Health and Safety requirements.
- Must be highly computer literate.
- Exceptional leadership skills.
- Computer literacy: Advanced MS Office essential; MS Project, SAGE, and WMS experience is critical.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**APPLICATION**
1. Qualification in Supply Chain / Logistics Management.
2. At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position preferably in a FMCG industry with at least 2 to 3 years in a managerial role.
3. Computer literate with detailed practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Sage X3.
