**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Minimum Qualifications/ Experience Required for this Position**:
**Own laptop and Transport with working phone.**
- Grade 12 or relevant NQF qualification
- Sport management or similar qualification
- Computer literacy - must be proficient in Microsoft office
- Minimum of 2-3 years management experience (Sport management preferable)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the gym environment
- Valid first aid and CPR certification certificates at all times during employment
- Valid personal training qualification added benefit but not compulsory
- Beneficial: additional exercise/fitness qualifications

**General description of the job**:

- Daily management and coordination of gym activities.
- Personalised one on one screening of gym members and employees.
- One on one training of all individuals with moderate to high risks as well as injuries and rehab work.
- Management of centre gym team and management of the facility in its entirety and take responsibility and be accountable for the efficient running of the centre.
- Daily completion of all centre administration tasks and compilation of centre reports.
- Coordination and setup of centre events and promotions.
- Organising the covering of gym shifts where manager performs Wellness initiator role.
- Gym orientation, member assessments and program prescription.
- Ensure centre is in line with head office and corporate client strategies such as event & promotions
- Ensure the daily optimum functioning of the gym
- Performance of maintenance checks, preventative maintenance and arranging services
- Determine the promotions and events to be run at their centres for optimum functionality
- Responsible to ensure that promotional stock in its entirety is ordered and picked up and ready for their promotions from head office and then returned to office within 3 days after event unless an additional arrangement is made.
- Responsible for all marketing material in its entirety and the tracking of the marketing material and competitions and winners etc. This includes submitting content briefs submission on time and marketing distribution through relevant channels by the designated deadline to ensure sufficient exposure.
- Must know the content of the service level agreements entered into between the company and the client and must ensure it is adhered to at all times.
- Required to have weekly meetings with your team members to ensure successful delivery of all services.
- Required to set up weekly training to ensure all targets are met.
- Required to give daily group training classes as part of your salary.
- You will also be responsible for the set-up and management of all the sport clubs in your estate.
- You will be required to present monthly ideas on bettering the performance of your facility to management as well as attending monthly meeting at Head Office.
- Required to source and manage all group exercise instructors needed to run a successful group training schedule (attaining a specific targets).
- Ensure that all processes/procedures are completed in the correct manner.
- Checks on the centre gym team.
- Attends any company and/or client’s meetings.
- Reports to the 1on1 Key Account (Relationship Manager) and indirectly to the corporate client’s wellness/HR Manager.
- Compiles weekly and monthly reports
- Setup of bi-weekly sales drives.
- Compiles sundry reports for all employees and submits these to head office monthly for payroll purposes and ensures the access report for attendance is forward accordingly.
- Conducts Member Ignitions and referrals if need be (High Risk) according to the process flow.
- Option to belong to the Personal Training model and conduct personal training if he/she wishes to do so as long as the manager’s primary tasks and responsibilities are not influenced negatively in any way outside of the Manager’s core working hours.
- Does basic group training during his/her shift (non-class budget classes)
- Gym administration (Gym stats, member forms, assessments, hours, gym reports
- Proposes fitness activities in line with health calendar and company wellness goals
- Initiates/Drives /Promotes wellness activities in line with company wellness goals (10% reduction in hypertension, obesity, cholesterol) (60% employees participating in wellness initiatives)
- Actively recruits participation in fitness activities by marketing, walk about, communication etc.
