**Head of Claims & Procurement - WNI (Short Term Insurance)**

**Job Description**:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to assume the role of Head of Claims and Procurement at Western National Insurance Group, responsible for Southern Africa. In this position, you will be the driving force behind our claims and procurement strategies, ensuring the delivery of top-notch client service and optimal insurance outcomes. Your leadership will be pivotal in redefining processes and elevating operational efficiency within the claims and procurement functions.

**Responsibilities**:
**Strategic Leadership**:Develop and implement comprehensive claims and procurement strategies for Western National Group.
Oversee the entire claims value chain, integrating procurement to enhance client service and insurance results.
Continuously improve people processes and team performance.

**Operational Excellence**:Redesign processes and procedures to optimize claims and procurement efficiencies.
Enhance the overall operational effectiveness of the business within claims and procurement.
Manage and nurture a team of dedicated professionals.

**Stakeholder Engagement**:Cultivate strong relationships with all operational staff.
Coach and mentor team members in managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to maximize their potential in achieving the company's objectives.

**Procurement Management**:Develop procurement, vendor management, and agreement procedures and guidelines.
Monitor adherence and ensure compliance with established procedures.
Collaborate with other departments and senior management on procurement and contracting matters.

**Vendor Relationship Management**:Research and identify potential vendors, maintaining a database of current and potential partners.
Establish contracts that provide the company with maximum value for services rendered.
Ensure clarity between activity, cost, and performance in contracting activities.

**Performance Monitoring**:Monitor SLAs with service providers to ensure timely, quality service delivery.
Review contracted services monthly to ensure effectiveness and compliance with standards.
Develop and manage monitoring tools, such as Lists of Approved Providers.

**Risk Mitigation**:Identify potential risks in SLA contract management and develop strategies to prevent or mitigate them.
Lead negotiations with selected providers and develop specialized tenders and contracts.

**Client and Broker Support**:Resolve complaints from brokers and clients within SLA.
Manage external and internal relationships effectively.

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in managing contracts, vendor relationships, procurement, and claims management.
- Knowledge of basic contracting principles and practices, including tendering and outsourcing management.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Proficiency in common software tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, project management, and presentation software.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a senior managerial role.
