**Job Description: Bartender - Cruise Ship**

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our dynamic team on a luxury cruise ship. As a Bartender, you will play a vital role in creating exceptional guest experiences by crafting and serving a wide variety of beverages in our onboard bars and lounges. Your exceptional mixology skills, attention to detail, and ability to engage with guests will contribute to making their cruise journey unforgettable.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and serve a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and soft drinks, while ensuring adherence to company standards and recipes.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service and enhancing the overall cruise experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as shipboard policies.
- Monitor alcohol consumption of guests and ensure responsible alcohol service, in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Upsell and promote special promotions, themed nights, and signature drinks to maximize onboard revenue.
- Collaborate with the bar team to create innovative and unique cocktail menus, taking into consideration current industry trends and guest preferences.
- Process guest orders accurately through the point-of-sale system, handle cash transactions, and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and safety drills to maintain a high level of knowledge regarding beverage offerings, responsible service, and emergency procedures.
- Assist in the inventory management of bar supplies, including ordering, receiving, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Provide support during special events, parties, and entertainment activities that involve the bar department.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across various departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Prior experience as a Bartender in a high-volume and fast-paced environment, preferably in a luxury hotel, resort, or cruise ship setting.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktails, wines, and various beverage preparation techniques.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work long hours, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks in a maritime environment.
- A solid understanding of responsible alcohol service and compliance with legal drinking age regulations.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, SMART) is a plus.
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds.

**Salary**: R43,000.00 - R45,000.00 per month
