**JOB DESCRIPTION - DRAUGHTSMAN - CAPE TOWN BRANCH**:

**Description**:

- This position requires an experienced draughtsman who is competent in the key areas of planning, scheduling and co-ordination with project managers with regards to site specific drawings and designs. To effectively ensure that the client\\'s requirements are met, drawings is completed within the framework of project plans and scope. He/she will be required to travel to site for on site measurements and produce drawings, hydraulic calculations and cutting lists that conform to specifications as set out by clients or consulting engineers.**Responsibilities**:
- Review bill of materials against the design and make sure it is correct
- Create accurate CAD drawings of fire protection and sprinkler system designs (pumprooms, valve chambers, roof sprinklers, in-rack sprinklers etc.)
- Create cutting lists and material take-off lists for workshop and procurement
- Perform hydraulic and pipe size calculations
- Perform detailed site measurements on new and existing sites.
- Create as-built drawings of installations
- Create ASIB submission documentation for inspections (noded diagrams included)
- Check drawings of junior draughtsmen and perform general checks on layouts to be approved for construction.
- Communicate with operations, engineering, and buyers about correct engineering specifications
- General drawing office administrative duties.

- Requirements- Multilingual ability
- Knowledge of fire detection systems
- ASIB 101 Grade 12
- Draughting certificate or diploma
- Minimum 2 years fire sprinkler drawing and design experience
- Minimum 2 years fire sprinkler hydraulic calculations & pipe sizing experience
- Minimum 2 years fire sprinkler designs as per ASIB standards
- ASIB competency certificate (will be an advantage)
- Valid driver’s license
- Microsoft office suite
- AutoCAD LT
- AutoCAD MEP
- Revit
- Good understanding of drawing office procedures
- Knowledge of Fire protection systems
- Knowledge of NFPA, FM Global and SANS standards
- Site measurements
- Willing to travel
- Must be a detail orientated person
- Good communication skills
