Parks and Gardens Supervisor

Planning, coordinating and control over the development, maintenance and upkeep of all parks, gardens and equipment in the Estate.
- Developing of and ensure an effective short-, medium
- and long-term maintenance programs for parks and facilities.
- Maintenance of golf course.
- Managing ad hoc facilities and infrastructure projects and ensure ongoing general maintenance of all facilities and infrastructure.
- Maintain and control vegetation in security areas and common area roads, verges and storm-water systems
- Coordinate and control the cleaning of all common areas of the estate
- Control of systems, vehicles and tools
- Coordinate the issue of tools, equipment and consumables
- Ensure all tools and equipment are serviced and maintained and vehicles operated within vehicle policies
- Management of water, poisons and consumables
- Administration and control of subordinates and effective utilization of personnel
- Management and development of all staff (gardeners, cleaners and general workers)
- Management of leave, scheduling and postings of personnel
- Motivating and disciplining subordinates
- Adherence to Occupational, Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Compiling the required maintenance and operational reports and submitting them to management
- Inspections on a daily basis.
- Effective utilization of personnel.
- Attend, resolve and feedback of Residents needs and requirements.
- Budget control and financial planning in conjunction with management.
**Minimum Requirements**
- 3 Year applicable degree/diploma in Horticulture
- Good knowledge of and experience in landscaping and garden design.
- 3 years management / supervisory experience / cross functional knowledge in management
- 3 years’ experience in fauna and flora management and maintenance of parks and gardens
- 3 years’ experience in the maintenance of a golf course
- 3 years’ relevant experience in maintenance of facilities and infrastructure.
- Code EB and A1 drivers’ licenses and own vehicle
- Excellent communication, customer relations skills and conflict management skills are essential
- Time Management, follow through, multi-tasking and effective decision making and planning skills
- Ability to take responsibility and accountability
- Good understanding of issues affecting residential communities and excellent client services.
- Computer literacy and basic financial acumen
- Technical skills
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: R22,000.00 per month
