Operated by AMANDLA, the Alexandra Development Precinct (“DLab”) consists of several components, and multiple partners, that play a complementary role in creating the platform for multi-sector collaboration, offering sustainable and holistic support for young people, their families and their communities. Precinct Collaboration is driven through a

Collective Impact approach. Safe-Hub is an implementing partner within the Precinct, and a participant of the Collective.

JOB SCOPE

As part of the AMANDLA product development team, the Alexandra Youth Café Programme Officer will work closely with the Basic Package of Support team to implement this multi-stakeholder programme. This requires an individual with a deep commitment to changing the status quo, experience in peer-facilitation and relationship building, and a proven track record in youth focussed employment and entrepreneurship solutions. The role includes core tasks across the following:

- Establishing a vibrant and welcoming culture
- Provide peer-based psychosocial support
- Provide peer-based career development support
- Participating in programme review, development and improvement
- Support in maintaining a network of quality referral service partnerships
- Implement the standard operating procedures

CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES
Educational:

- Grade 12 (required)
- Certificate in Child and Youth Care Work or related (required)

Experience and Skills:

- Live in or near Alexandra and have an in depth Experience in developing and coordinating partnerships. understanding of the community. Experience with active community engagement and
- Experience working in youth development programmes for dialogue. young NEETs. Strong digital skills and computer literacy (MS Word
- Experience delivering work readiness training, and/or package). career guidance to young people Fluency in English and proficiency in Sesotho and/or isiZulu
- Experience in managing databases and working with client data
- Experience in implementing peer-based psychosocial support activities
