**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all plant and site maintenance activities, including projects, staff supervision, and contractors. Adherence to guidelines and statutory requirements, managing planned and breakdown maintenance, and overseeing maintenance spares and equipment repair.

Duties will include the following:

- Supervise the Maintenance Fitters and Fitter Aides to ensure that planned and breakdown maintenance is conducted timeously
- Coordinate capital projects, manage maintenance stocks, and handle purchasing process for spares, materials, and services
- Oversee staff supervision, working hours, and safety documentation for Plant Fitters, Fitter Aides, and engineering contractors while maintaining the Engineering department's safety files
- Coordinate with suppliers and service providers for maintenance equipment and spares to ensure efficient stock levels, collections, receipts and maintain preventative maintenance programs to minimize plant downtime
- Implement process management changes (MOCs) through risk reviews, training assessments while ensuring adherence to the "Permit to work" system by all staff and contractors
- Effectively manage job card maintenance system for prioritizing jobs, timely repairs execution with minimum plant downtime; update the maintenance database along with all related engineering documentation
- Actively participate in safety assessments or quality audits conducted; assist with instrument calibrations under ISO 9001 procedures; maintain safe workplace conditions during workshops or other areas where maintenance work occurs.
- Proactively report and address incidents, irregular emissions, spillages, or potential pollution threats to the Site Engineer, Shift Foreman or Production Manager; assist in containment and environmental impact mitigation efforts
- Actively conserve resources by minimizing water and electricity wastage while promoting environmental awareness among co-work

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Grade 12 graduate with trade-tested artisan certification in Mechanical or Millwright is mandatory, diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 7-10+ years of engineering and maintenance experience in a processing plant, including staff management/supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office at an intermediary level and experienced in project management
- Well-organized and meticulous, adept at planning and prioritizing activities
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands of the customer/situation
- Strong communication and people skills
