IT Auditor

Join South Africa’s leading fashion retailer and become part of a winning team Truworths is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced IT Auditor to join the Truworths Audit team. The successful incumbent will perform IT-specific audits within the Truworths Group with entities in South Africa and the UK. This position is based at the Truworths Head Office in Cape Town. In the role, you will mainly be responsible for: - Assisting the organisation to preserve its value and safeguard critical systems by identifying IT risks, vulnerabilities, process deficiencies and suggesting proactive countermeasures. - Identify areas for improvement to enhance cyber security and efficiency by comparing current IT operations to best practice control frameworks in line with the business’ desired maturity level. - Provide assurance services in the form of integrated audits and IT-specific audits within the Truworths Group with entities in South Africa and the UK, with specific reference to: o Application controls; o IT General controls; o Cyber security o Data Analysis; and o Data privacy. - Providing consulting services to assist the business in bridging key gaps and to facilitate the implementation of improvement initiatives on a priority basis. - Work alongside talented professionals in a supportive culture and collaborative environment that fosters continuous learning.
**Key Responsibilities**: - To gain a clear understanding of the area under review and to evaluate controls - To identify and assess risks related to the area under review and to draft an audit program to test controls which are intended to address the risks - To identify gaps in the process and recommend process improvements - To draft reports with clear and concise findings and associated risks - To identify the cause of findings and assess management’s action plans to ensure that root causes are addressed - To liaise with department heads, line managers and external auditors - To perform IT audits of the financial and operational business processes - To perform or assist in the performance of special reviews at the request of management
**Qualifications and Experience**: Qualifications: - Completed relevant B-degree (Accountancy, Computer Science or Internal Audit degree) - Relevant Professional IT certification (CISA or equivalent) Experience/ Knowledge: - Minimum 4 years IT Audit experience in all of the following areas: o General Control Reviews o Application Control Reviews - Process Audit experience or retail experience would be beneficial - Knowledge of the NIST cybersecurity, CIS Critical Security Controls, ISO27001, COBIT and ITIL frameworks would be beneficial - Exposure to technical reviews would be advantageous: Operating Systems: AIX and Microsoft Windows, Database Management Systems: Oracle and Microsoft SQL, System development and deployment using Agile system development methodology - Experience of performing data analytics/CAATs in an audit environment is advantageous - Experience in systems auditing and IT controls, coupled with a broad knowledge of IT risks and frameworks. - Experience in auditing financial and operational controls within a wide range of business processes (within either an external or internal audit environment) or relevant experience in risk, audit and compliance role - Strong analytical and project management skills
