**Purpose of the position**

The purpose of this position is to oversee, facilitate and support training which is conducted by the organisation in the field of HIV, TB, STI, primary health care and structural programms with TB HIV Care, Department of Health and partners.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Certificate/diploma in HIV/AIDS management
- A post-graduate diploma in nursing education Certificate in MS office
- NIMART trained
- Trained on APC (Adult Primary Care)
- An accredited certificate in facilitation and assessment or equivalent experience
- 1 years’ experience with having initiated patients
- SANC registered
- Extensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STI and TB in prevention, treatment and care on the latest guidelines
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provides training support
- Liaise with regional manager and training department to carry out training according to work plan and organisational priorities
- Responds to training requests and plans appropriate training
- Plans all aspects of training including ensuring the necessary authorisations are completed, venue is arranged, training resources are prepared and any other aspects are planned in advance
- Ensures training material is suitable to the audience, the context and relevant health regulations and protocols
- Conducts training on the following topics TB, HIV, ART, STI’s, Adult Primary Care (PC101), NIMART, PMTCT, HIV rapid testing, RTCQI, IPC, CQIMMC, including guideline updates and refresher training.
- Attends “Train the Trainer”, DOH training, and other training events as a representative of the organisation
- Conducts skills audits and develops training plans in liaison with key programme staff and Department of Health and others in accordance with required outputs.
- Updates own skills and remains current in field of HIV prevention by attending relevant courses and meetings
- Facilitates training programmes according to agreed standards and curricula, as well as requirements of Department of Health
- Facilitates training programmes according to learning outcomes and industry standards, and for differing staff levels
- Amends and revises training programmes in order to adapt to changes in the field, district or sector
- Evaluates trainees using standardised assessment procedures
- Ensures at least the majority of the trainees are competent at the end of the training
- Reviews training courses and facilitators on a regular basis
- Ensures expected outcomes of participants and the organisation are met
- Conducts assessments and supports the completion of POEs for training where required
- Promotes quality assurance in training
- Maintains good working relationships with the Department of Health, Regional Training Centre and other stakeholders
- Provides feedback and/or implements training of others after attending such events.
- Completes necessary reports after each training event, as well as weekly and monthly reports
- Assists with compiling quarterly statistics

Ensures training events facilitated by external parties comply with reporting requirements
