Assistant Analyst

Perform routine analysis on environmental samples, raw materials, in process samples and final products.
- Can be required to assist in the development of test methods.
- Assist with updating of test methods, operating instructions and other documentation.
- Responsible for some of the equipment used in the laboratory.
- Assist with requirements for the maintenance of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
- Comply with and implement Safety, Health and Environment standards.
- Collect and deliver samples and results to and from the various plants and customers.
- Assist with various duties for the effective operation of the laboratory:

- Cleaning of glassware
- Changing of gas cylinders
- Housekeeping
- Lab administration

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Matric / Grade 12.
- BSc / B Tech in Analytical Chemistry or NQF equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in Analytical Chemistry.
- Sound Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry knowledge.
- Report writing.
- Drivers licence.
- Understanding of Chemistry, product lines and materials within the Analytical Chemistry sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
- Good laboratory practises.
- Know-how of various advanced analytical chemistry techniques.
- Processing and calculation of data and results.
