Responsible for manufacturing good quality products according to customer requirements. Ensure the machines run efficiently, minimum waste generated on machines and prevent downtime.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Set up and operate the Stitching machine.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities to each crew member during set-ups, daily cleaning, weekly PM and operational duties.
- Complete in process quality checks and quality checklist during production run.
- Isolate rejected pallets together with Supervisor/QC.
- Coordinates and reports any mechanical/electrical issues to engineering and supervisor.
- Do minor trouble shooting in stitcher heads and strapping machines.
- Ensure production targets are met.
- Controlling and minimising waste to acceptable limits as per company targets and KPI’s set.
- Ensure compliance with all Food Safety, Quality and Safety procedures within the organisation and work within the parameters of the required standards
- Housekeeping of machine and surrounding areas (Daily & weekly production & maintenance cleaning checklist must be recorded and verified).
- Adhere to good documentation practice; completes all check sheets and verification thereof.
- Report any quality deviations to quality department/supervisor.
- Complete waste report tickets and shift reports.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry and in similar position or related positions on a corrugator line
- Minimum completed Grade 12 (Matric)
- Basic computer knowledge and usage of computer programs such as: MS Office
- Possess high knowledge in:

- Product quality specifications
- Quality standards
- Safety and quality knowledge

- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy

- Must be able to perform and operate under pressure and adapts to changing conditions
- Must have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision.

- Competency to review and follow instructions.
- Physical ability to stand for long time.
- Should have strong hand-eye coordination.
- Sufficient physical reflexes and personal mobility.
- Good clarity of hearing and speech.
- Willing to work shifts, standby and overtime when required
