Primary Purpose: To maintain the Operator’s assets and ensure that safety, quality, and performance targets are achieved. To execute maintenance policy, standards, procedures and ensure reliable safe system. To ensure seamless travel for our customers that is safe, reliable, comfortable, and friendly.

Job description / core competencies:
Principal Accountabilities
Supervise the maintenance of the systems - low, medium and high voltage systems, diesel hydraulic emergency vehicles, fire detection and protection systems.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health Safety Acts & its Regulations, all applicable legal requirements and Company policies.
Assist in continuous improvement within the Department relating to:
Participate in confirming the asset verification accuracy including Maximo change proposals.
Assist with non-compliance reporting process and closure of all findings.
Participate in maintenance inspections on all systems.
Ensure update of maintenance procedures.
Arrange meetings, venues, record and distribute minutes as per required timelines.

Specific Responsibilities
Assist with site inspections, report writing and other related maintenance activities on all the above stated systems.
Enforce compliance to applicable codes and standards.
Comply with Company policies
Conduct inspections, report deviations and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
Participate in Maintenance Management Information System.
Render assistance in managing defect notifications and completion of remedial works.
Communicate and keep register of business correspondence.
Organize and attend monthly site inspections of the Gautrain system.
Inspect system to identify issues or non-conformity for prompt resolution.
Arrange and conduct regular inspections and audits on subcontractors
Give technical advice and feedback on any defects or upgrades.
Assist in renewal projects.
Respond to formal correspondences and letters timeously.
Adhere to budget requirements.
Conduct analysis on obsolescence treatment.
Conduct monthly tunnel inspections and address all abnormal issues
Compile monthly energy consumption reports.
Abide to general housekeeping rules.
Undertake any other duties as assigned.

Work Context and Environment

Office environment and indoors, working outdoors, working with low, medium and high voltage equipment, Working in different Stations, Depots, Tunnel and Shafts.
Normal weekly hours and night shift roster

**Location**: Midrand, Gauteng

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Educational Level
National Diploma or BTech in Electrical Engineering (heavy current).
Valid driver’s license with driving experience

Years of Experience
At least 8 years’ relevant experience in maintenance operations

Mechanical knowledge will be of advantage
Fire systems knowledge
Safety management knowledge
General technical knowledge
Computer knowledge
Sound health to work and walk in different environment and condition
