Proposed Position

THINK is seeking suitably qualified Data Managers for the anticipated USAID TB and HIV projects to be based in the following areas: Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Free State, and Western Cape regions.

The Data Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of data for the project, including data collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting. They will work closely with project staff to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and of high quality. Specific responsibilities include the following:
**Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Alignment of Project objectives with THINK Strategic intent.
- Alignment with funder expectations and requirements.
- Support the development and coordination of programme data systems including the development of databases, identification of efficient ways to collect, organise data, store and archive data.
- Ensure that the district accurate information is available timely and securely for both internal and external reporting and strategic information needs.
- Responsible for collection and collation of all project data.
- Responsible for maintaining the project database.
- Assist with monitoring of data quality improvement process across districts.
- Ensure data quality activities are aligned with DoH requirements.
- Assist with ensuring the reporting of programme indicators as per DoH and funder specifications.
- Assist with the collation of the quarterly M&E funder report.
- Work closely with DQMs in respective districts to ensure routine data quality audits are effectively conducted and reporting of routine facility data.
- Assist with data related trainings on HIS where necessary.
- Continued internal stakeholder engagements with M&E district supporting staff.
- Regular external stakeholder engagements with DoH to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
- Regular internal stakeholder engagements where necessary.
- Provide support to district data quality mentors.
- Capacity building through attending advanced M&E programmes.
- Comply with all THINK rules and regulations and policies and procedures.
- Be passionate about making the difference and add value to THINK.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Data Systems, Informatics or similar. Bachelor's degree in statistics, informatics, data systems, epidemiology, public health, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, analysis and reporting in public health programs, preferably in TB and HIV.
- Proficient in using statistical software, such as SPSS, STATA, and/or R.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate complex data and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with staff from diverse backgroung.
- Clear criminal record.
- Must have a valid drivers licence.
