Shatterprufe® is the leading manufacturer and distributor of OE Auto and aftermarket replacement glass products. The company manufactures genuine Shatterprufe® laminated windscreens and Armourplate® toughened automotive safety glass products. Three automotive glass plants manufacture over 4 million pieces of laminated and toughened glass a year for customers worldwide. Shatterprufe® products are installed by Original Motor manufacturers in Southern Africa.
**Main job purpose**
To provide effective technical support to site in order to drive process and technical improvements in line with best practices and business plans.
**Main Objective**
Provide professional support with regards to process improvements and other initiatives in order to improve efficiencies as and when required.
To build effective relationships and manage the safety and work delivery of suppliers and contractors on site, to ensure that work is delivered at the required quality in line with budget, project requirements and safety standards on an ongoing basis.
Together with the Engineering Team, identify the root cause of problems and take appropriate action to resolve issues, in order to minimise downtime and improve efficiencies.
To manage CAPEX for all allocated projects to ensure that costs are controlled in line with projected plans.
To continuously keep abreast of all new changes and advanced technologies within the industry and field of expertise to continuously improve efficiencies and quality to support sustainability of the business.
To provide expertise in instrumentation / automation (e.g. PLC, robotics, CNC machines, controllers, digital and analogue automation) in order to support Site.
Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.

**Qualification(s)**
- National Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Grade 12
**Knowledge**
- Good technical understanding of machines and components
- Allen Bradley (PLC understanding)
- Understanding of PC (network and PC experience - hardware and software)
- FMEA Control Plans awareness and understanding of how it works as internal projects are generated using FMEA Control Plans
- Fault Finding and Problem Solving techniques essential
- Understanding of Engineering Standards
- Pneumatics background at an intermediate to advanced level
- Keep up to date with changes within the engineering industry
- Knowledge of SERVO Drive Systems (CNC’s) and AC Drives
- Good technical understanding of automated equipment and components
- Comprehensive knowledge of networks (hardware and software)
- Understanding of electrical supply systems
**Skills**
- Leadership and management skills

- Financial skills in order to understand budgets and how to keep control within the budget
**Experience**
- 5 years experience in Equipment Automation and Robotics
- 3 years experience in Managing of subordinates
- 3 year’s work experience within the automotive industry
