**Job Description**:
**Purpose**
- To primarily focus on the management and coordination of investigations into allegations of breaches of business principles including. BHV and Sexual Harassment (SH) investigations across all the South African business units.

**Key Tasks**

**Safety, Health & Environmen**t
- Lead and manage in line with health, safety and environmental standards and with the Group’s values
- Exhibit and model behaviours that are aligned to the expected standards
- Participate in the relevant safety audits, inspections and observations address issues as part of demonstrating safety leadership

**Performance & Delivery (** Required for Operational roles to align to Operating Model)
- Assist the Head of Investigations in the development and implementation of the investigation framework that aims to establish a consistent approach in the way AA manages investigations across the Group
- Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to investigations
- Ensure that the investigations methodology is kept up to date
- Prepare management reports on investigations, and make recommendations on appropriate action
- Prepare and make submissions for the audit committee papers
- Proactively identify trends and hotspots, and make recommendations to address areas of concern
- Assist the Head of Investigations to provide all inputs required to YourVoice Oversight Committee, Business Units Ethics Committees and the Living with Dignity Committee
- Assist with risk assessments in Business Units and Corporate environment

**People & Teams**
- Lead a team of specialist investigators
- Demonstrate behaviour in line with the Group’s values, standards and a professional workplace.
- Participate as an effective team member in working collaboratively with your leader, peers and relevant others (including from other teams) to achieve business goals
- Manage and coordinated allocated work within the ABAS Investigations team through effective liaison with ABAS Head of Investigations and other Investigations Managers
- Provide leadership to and develop the performance of your team in line with the Group´s policies and systems (e.g., performance management, talent management) in order to achieve business goals. As part of this:

- Develop a clear and aligned work plan for your team
- Foster a constructive and productive working environment
- Monitor the work of each member and provide regular and useful feedback to them on how they are performing
- Drive delivery of objectives including holding team members to account for their work
- Participate as an effective team member in working collaboration with your leader, peers and relevant others to achieve business goals
- Monitor the activities of your team which involve other teams and appropriately intervene to address any cross-team issues
- Contribute to the broader business by working with others in such a way that optimizes the overall business results, rather than just your team´s
- Continuously liaise with the ABAS Head of Investigations on investigation strategy and approach as well as communication with internal stakeholders and external agencies
- Where applicable, ensure that ABAS resources are allocated effectively to business needs, as per discussions with ABAS Head of Investigations
- Effective two-way open communication with employees
- Ensure that employees work in a safe and productive environment and set targets for improvements
- Support and participate in the training and development requirements of employees especially in terms of new work practices
- Ensure that employees have clear work expectations and plans
- Identify ideas to increase motivation and competencies
- Continuously liaise with the Living with Dignity Hub to act and report on cases received from that source

**Compliance**
- Promote and advance compliance with all Group and ABAS policies

**Technical Knowledge**

**Operations**:

- Knowledge of applicable legislation/policies/procedures/standards
- Disciplinary / ER related knowledge regarding disciplinary processes
- Presentation and handling of evidence in court/disciplinary hearing
