Junior Underwriter

Title: Junior Underwriter (Experienced)

Job Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Review policy and proposal forms to identify discrepancies and recommend modifications as needed
- Collaborate with other teams to obtain additional information and address underwriting inquiries
- Stay updated on industry regulations and underwriting guidelines
- Assist in preparing risk assessment reports and policy quotes
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and working closely with agents and brokers
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing a high volume of underwriting tasks
- Participate in team meetings to discuss strategies and opportunities for process improvement

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate risks accurately
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in using underwriting software and technology tools
- Thorough understanding of insurance policies, coverages, and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Relevant insurance certifications (preferred)

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
