**Overview**:
The purpose of the role is to make and install boilers and other large containers that house gases or liquids such as oil.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Qualified Artisan

**Experience**:

- 3 year demonstrated experience in the role as a Boilermaker
- 3 years demonstrated knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Proven experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, callipers etc.)

**Duties**:
**Reading blueprints**:

- Follow drawings / blueprints to manufacture tanks and structures
- Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame tanks or vats, following blueprints

**Casting pieces and bending them into shape**:

- Ensure the section edges fit properly and bolt or weld them together.
- Conduct an assessment before starting manufacturing
- Regular inspection and maintenance of tanks and structures

**Regularly check the tanks and structures for leaks and weak spots**:

- Hazard identification

**Understand the hazards associated with handling hazardous materials and enforce the safe handling of these materials on the plant**
- Compliance with relevant idustry regulations
- Occupational Health and Safety Act
