Tablet Press Operator

A well-established pharmaceutical company based in Ndabeni, Cape Town, is looking for a TABLET PRESS OPERATOR to join their team.

Under the direction of the Pharmacist/Manager/Supervisor/, the Tablet Press Operator is responsible for all activities related to the compression of the product as per formula instructions. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operates tablet press and roller compactor machinery independently as well as within a team environment.
- Matches all labels with batch records.
- Documents tablet press and roller compactor process information as per SOP
- Loads and unloads tablet press machine.
- Monitors tablet press or roller compactor operation periodically and reports any abnormal conditions to the manager.
- Disassemble the tablet press or roller compactor after operations for cleaning purposes.
- Clean the machine and disassembled parts in accordance with the cleaning procedure.
- Assemble the machine and make it ready for subsequent operations.
- Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.
- Trouble shoot in cases of tablets or in-process material failure to meet specifications.
- Assists the maintenance department in the servicing and maintenance activities of the tableting equipment.
- Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOP’s and cGMP guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- High school graduate as a minimum
- Prior solid dosage form manufacturing experience required.
- Prior tablet press or roller compactor experience required.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions.
- Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc.within a manufacturing environment.
