**Job Advert Summary**:
**Purpose of the position**:
To provide counselling services and become an integral part of the broader comprehensive care and treatment counselling in a Non-Clinical site and/or community that links the community into care.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Matric / Grade 12
- ATTIC Certificates
- Certified to conduct Finger Prick Testing
- Clear Criminal Record
- Ability to speak isiXhosa, English and any other South African language

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Uses guidelines to conduct health education and promote positive living
- Conducts individual and group health education using the teaching aides provided
- Keeps abreast of the latest developments in HIV/AIDS/TB/STI prevention
- Engages with clients in a non-judgmental and empathic manner
- Provides quality counseling advice in Non-clinical settings
- Promotes HIV/AIDS counseling and testing and condom use for males/females
- Promotes couple/partner counseling
- Assists with data capturing for example HCT Register maintenance
- Meets daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly targets as set
- Assists in taking sputum specimen on symptomatic clients
- Other duties may be assigned.
