**_ Position Purpose:_**
- Manage and support the development and implementation of a reliable Sustainability data system across TP.
- Conduct business requirement analysis projects in TP and Operational Divisions where there are SLAs to detect critical

process deficiencies and to recommend solutions to improve the use of information technology, supporting business
- information requirements.
- Plan and execute the development, maintenance, and ongoing refinement of the TP and Operational Divisions where there

are SLAs Sustainability data system, accommodating the complexities of Transnet business
- Do ongoing communication and education on the framework for enterprise-wide data systems.
- Interact with Operational Division stakeholders to develop sustainability data systems to meet business needs

**_ Position outputs:_**
- Analyze current data systems in the business environments to identify critical deficiencies and to develop solutions for the

improved use of information technology, to support the sustainability data systems requirements.
- Conduct user training on the Stainability system for users across TP
- Conduct business requirements analysis by engaging with the respective business stakeholders from all TP business

operation
- Analyse information sources, purpose, information consolidation, and manipulation, identify data or information

shortcomings or deficiencies to gain an understanding of where and how information is being used, consolidated, and
- manipulated.
- Conduct a gap analysis to identify deficiencies or problems in the data and information to enable effective solutions to the

identified deficiencies.
- Identify and analyze business drivers and business change drivers to determine business information solutions, and

information technology requirements and to develop Business architecture requirements.
- Research rigorous models for how the data is to be structured and used to ensure that transaction processing is efficient and

effective and that information to support decision-making is readily available. Ensure that these information models are
- flexible enough to easily adjust to meet changing business needs.
- Engage with business project owners to ensure projects fit enterprise information architecture and to determine the
- Define how data and information are to be used and produced in the organization, ensuring that information governance and

architecture policy and structures are not compromised
- Ongoing assessment of sustainability risks that may impact the business.
- Ensure timeous tracking of initiatives to measure performance and for sustainability reporting and integrated reporting

purposes.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders (in Operating Divisions and Regions) to ensure their constructive participation in

implementing sustainability initiatives.
- Internal and external networks with key stakeholders in government, NGO’s and the private sector to make a constructive

contribution to South Africa’s sustainability initiatives.
- Research on sustainability-related issues, including global best practices.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**

An appropriate NQF 7 degree equivalent in Information Technology or Information Systems or Industrial engineering; and

A minimum of 5 years of working experience in the fields of sustainability and information technology in companies of similar
size and complexity to Transnet.
