**Job Advert Summary**:
**PURPOSE**:
- To facilitate Business Unit level improvement teams to realise business goals aligned with Business Unit improvement targets.
**MAJOR CHALLENGES**:
- Translating business goals and challenges to functional and area targets for Business Unit.
- Facilitating operational teams to improve performance.
- Analysing of operational team's performance.
**Minimum Requirements**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- B Eng (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Recommended/Desirable and/or)
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Recommended/Desirable)
- Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)
**EXPERIENCE**:
6-8 years Relevant Business improvement or business excellence, economical evaluations, improvement methodologies experience. (Essential/Minimum) Operational
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Best Practice and Knowledge Management**
- Intellectual property management and protection
- Create and manage professional networks
- Participate in tertiary educational relationships and in professional external forums
- Continuously monitor exchange and preservation of information between operations and individuals to facilitate effective knowledge management
- Stay abreast with advances in the field of business improvement and innovation
**Business Performance, Operations and Continuous Improvement**
- Support management in the development and implementation of Business Improvement (BI) strategy
- Translate business strategy and business unit targets into specific functional area targets
- Design and direct improvement processes
- Ensure implementation of BI strategy and strategic initiatives through facilitating decision-making, optimisation and improvement processes at Business Unit (BU)
**Business Review Process**
- Support business review process by evaluating critical performance areas 6 monthly, quarterly and monthly within business unit level
- Implement and track metrics to enable measurement of process efficiency and effectiveness
- Audit current processes and identification of areas of opportunity
**Customer and Client Relationship Management**
- Support core business by ensuring appropriate stakeholder relationships toward enhancing corporate profile
- Manage internal and external relations including the interface with external providers or other functions responsible to ensure that business needs are met, and employees are satisfied
**Functional Excellence**
- Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end to end processes, tools, templates etc.
- Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up functional processes, eliminating duplication/bureaucracy
**Optimisation Support**
- Support BI and operational excellence initiatives through business analysis, root cause analysis, idea generation facilitation and structured innovation
- Identify, manage and execute breakthrough projects
- Project planning and tracking against work plans including budget and cost control
- Define project level issue management processes and procedures
**Optimisation and Efficiency**
- Execute BI and operational excellence framework and process on business unit level
- Implement common operational/BI initiatives for a business unit
- Manage multiple breakthrough projects at business unit level
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and contribute to business optimisation function Community of Practice (COP)
- Ensure continuous business process reviews in conjunction with business owners and users
- Determine needs and facilitate business improvement initiatives, upgrades or enhancements
- Ensure integration and alignment between BU’s in liaison with COP leaders
- Conduct research regarding best practice and benchmark processes at regular intervals
- Assure that new best practice processes are facilitated and established
- Explore and analyse information toward achieving informed business decision-making
- Keep abreast with BI and innovation practices, benchmark data and technology-based enablers which impact on BI
