Sewing Machine Mechanic

To maintain and repair all sewing machines and hand held fabric cutting machines.
- Perform scheduled maintenance to sewing machines as per maintenance schedule.
- Carry out repair to sewing machines efficiently with the least amount of production lost time.
- Assist in maintaining a reasonable critical spares stock for all sewing machines.
- Investigate root cause of major failures of sewing machines
- Dismantles machines and replaces or repairs broken or worn parts.
- Inspects machines, shafts, and belts.
- Repairs broken transmission belts.
- Installs attachments on machines.
- Initiates orders for new machines or parts.
- Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance service of production equipment.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Performs technical skills including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Complies with all Occupational Health & Safety Rules and Regulations.
- Complies with all the Company’s safety and quality standards.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Performs other related duties as required and or assigned by the Engineering Manager.
