About the job
To visit local Healthcare Practitioners and share information on Aptamil clinical research to persuade them to prescribe Aptamil for babies whose mothers are not able to breastfeed. To uphold the ethical use of breastfeeding substitutes at all times.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Guide healthcare professionals in their choice of what to prescribe
- Visit a list of healthcare professionals, to build up robust relationships and assist Danone to become those HCP’s preferred brand.
- Organising the representation of our brands in public and private healthcare establishments, while complying with local regulations.
- Use appropriate scientific and sales arguments, to encourage the healthcare professionals to advise and prescribe our products.
- Maintain a high level of scientific and product knowledge, so as to ensure that the information communicated to all healthcare professionals is reliable and trustworthy.
- Constantly seek to improve relationships and services for such professionals.
- Communicating messages effectively to all healthcare professionals and KOLs, using appropriate methods and tools.
- Organise events aimed at healthcare professionals, involving specially selected participants, either in healthcare establishments or other appropriate locations.
- Establishing a network of key prescribers and KOLs.

2. Manage the territory
- Identifying business opportunities in the territory and put forward initiatives aimed at achieving the objectives.
- Understanding competitors’ activities, and recommend action to counter them, so as to protect our positions in the market.
- Suggest an action plan to the HN Supervisor consistent with the previously set budget for the area, and monitor expenditure in relation to the action plan by using key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Drawing up and presenting regular reports on business, in accordance with previously established plans and schedules.
- Regularly updating the database of healthcare professionals in accordance with internal procedures and processes.

3. Compliance
- Ensure that all the activities comply with the WHO code and with local regulations relating to food preparations for infants.
- Adherence to Danone policies.

4. Assist and support the team
- Participate in team meetings to share knowledge of the market, including difficulties and successes encountered.
- Work in close collaboration with all members of the team, and ensuring increase of individual and collective KPIs.

5. Collect information and ideas
- Identify changes and trends relating to the decision-making, needs and concerns of healthcare professionals.
- Collect all information relating to the world of healthcare professionals, and identify new contacts.
- Identify potential and emerging KOLs.
- Assess all the activities of competitors, including medical events, and pass details on to the HN Supervisor.

About you
KEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

Qualification(s):

- University or Higher Education studies (Matric + 3 years) ; at least two years training in a field of science: eg. Biology, Food Manufacturing or Nutrition.

Experience and skills:

- 2 years as a medical or sales representative.
- English essential. 2nd local language preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
- Scientific and nutrition-related knowledge.
- Sales techniques.
