Factory Handyman

The responsibility of the Factory Handyman will focus on the buildings and grounds maintenance upkeep, plumbing system and ensure that the drain and sewerage systems are maintained. The incumbent will be required to complete and maintain various records related to statutory requirements as well as internal documentation. Keeps work areas in neat order. Will take responsibility for engineering spare part inventory and conduct stock taking. Will also be required to be trained on cGMP practices and regulations.

**Qualifications and Training**
- No more than 3 years working experience
- Must be energetic and healthy to perform physical tasks
- Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- **A qualification in facilities maintenance or N2 Engineering will be advantageous.**

**Role Specific**

**Provides general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required.**

Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance and welding.
- **Dedicates some hours every week for assistance with general administration work related to the work request system (Maintenance systems) and the ordering of supplies and materials.**:

- Performs routine daily inspections of assigned buildings and spaces and update logbooks. **Assists, or support when needed, general and detailed cleaning of all engineering, interior and exterior spaces.**:

- Follows the Facilities Work Request System.
- **Completes all documentation for work performed, in a timely manner.**:

- Performs the duties associated with events, including executing the set-up plan in a timely manner, breakdowns are completed on schedule with spaces returned to normal state. **Implementation of preventative and or corrective measures.**:

- Participation in problem solving, improvement and or cost saving projects/initiatives. **Follow work instructions relating to the EQMS system.**:

- Adherence to cGMP policies and procedures
- **On time and in full delivery to internal customers.**:

- Capture hours and work performed on various tasks in detail and with 100% accuracy on computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- **Participate internal and external training and development relating to job function. ** Required to be trained and self-develop on automation projects and electronic use of tablets for record keeping and or reporting.
- **Will be required to be trained as First Aider, Health & Safety Rep or Fire Fighter.**:

- Keeps work areas in neat order.
- **To assist line manager with stock keeping, record keeping and training of contractors and personnel.**:

- Take responsibility for effective contractor management relating to building / construction work type.
- **Follow all required company procedures.
