**TAX MANAGER **required for our client based on the East Rand to assist with a wide range of tax services, ranging from compliance services, registration services with SARS and consulting services, both internally and externally

**Minimum Requirements**:

- B.Com Honours Taxation or Higher Diploma in Taxation
- 3 - 6 years post qualification corporate tax experience in a managerial position
- MUST have experience managing a tax department or tax team

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Managing and coordinating tax staff members (approximately 3) and assessing their performance (performance management). The aforementioned tax staff members inter alia (i) maintain the tax client database and all transactions on the tax management software (ii) maintain the tax practitioner firm SARS e-filing profile and (iii) attends to tax registrations and deregistrations across all tax types with SARS.
- Managing the provisional tax return submissions and attending to estimated provisional tax calculations as required;
- Delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within the relevant timeframes;
- this includes VAT, PAYE, CGT, Income Tax, Customs VAT etc.
- Review and submission of income tax returns across all taxpayer types;
- Interacting and building relationships with clients to provide tax planning and tax consulting services
- and attending to ad hoc client queries;
- Addressing ad hoc technical queries from members of the audit team;
- Attending to dispute resolution matters with SARS, including objections, appeals and responding to
- SARS queries on behalf of taxpayers.
- Providing tax opinions on the interpretation of tax legislation.
- Tax advise/consultation on income tax implications for residents, non-residents and expats
- Complete and review tax returns for:

- Individuals
- Companies
- CC’s
- Trusts
- Exempt Institutions i.e. Clubs, body corporates etc.Respond to/complete SARS verifications and auditors
