Duties and Responsibilities:

- The Junior Maintenance Technicians' central task is to assist the maintenance artisans. This may involve doing basic tasks such as handling the tools, and it may also involve working independently from the maintenance artisans on tasks that require less skill or experience.
- The Junior Maintenance Technicians assists with and completes maintenance work orders on all equipment. This includes testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts. The Junior Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Artisans will collaborate with other maintenance staff to identify and solve problems.
- The Junior Maintenance Technician is in a position that is partly educational training to become a qualified artisan. Therefore, he or she is responsible for learning all procedures for installing and maintaining maintenance systems as well as local and national regulations and safety requirements.
- Follow Problem Solving techniques whenever there is high downtime and implement and/or report required corrective action.
- Liaise with Maintenance Manager on improvements required in process as well as specifications and standards.
- Receives and carries out oral and written job assignments
- Conducts pre-operation inspections
- May perform general building maintenance duties

Key Skills

- Experience working in a working/maintenance environment (preferred)

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Parow, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
