Gis Technician

An advanced agricultural services business specializing in various precision farming solutions that operates throughout South Africa and within selected international markets is seeking to employ a full time GIS Technician. This position will focus on digitisation, collecting & capturing data, creating simple maps and maintaining GIS data.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Data processing, analysis and modelling
- On-going spatial data maintenance and dissemination, end-user support and the generation of maps and other GIS reports and information product
- Compiling and organising GIS data from maps, databases and other sources
- Conversion of mapping resources and data
- Quality control on data capturing projects
- Data manipulation and queries - SQL databases
- Map generation
- Digitising from aerial photography and satellite images if required

**Minimum Requirements**

**Qualifications**
- Degree in GIS/Geography/Environmental Science or any other relevant tertiary education
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to maintain high standards under pressure
- Working knowledge of QGIS and ArcGIS
- Detailed oriented

**Experience**
- Experience in the agricultural industry would be advantageous

**Salary**:R15k p/month, dependant on skills and experience
