Data Privacy Steering Committee and Digital Solutions Governance Board members, which include the Group General Counsel, Group Head of IM, Group Head of Risk Management, Group Head of HR Services, Group Head of Security, Group Head of Talent, Group Head of Learning and various other Heads of Department.

Data Protection Champions in South Africa, Namibia, Boswana and Zimbabwe.

Head of Legal, South Africa.

**Job functions**:
To manage the data privacy programme for the company in South Africa, Namibia, Boswana and Zimbabwe.

Engage business stakeholders to manage privacy risks in each of our Southern African Regions.

Work with and guide business stakeholders to help them implement the Data Privacy policies and procedures, learning materials and ensure personal data processing activities are compliant with the Group Data Privacy Policy.

Deputize for the Data Protection Principal.

Plan and implement the company’s data privacy compliance programme, with a specific focus on South Africa, Namibia, Boswana and Zimbabwe including:
Maintain the data privacy critical control framework and manage reporting across all Business Units and Group Functions in Southern Africa.

Monitor the southern African business’ compliance with the Group Data Privacy Policy, Procedures, Guidelines, and critical control framework and address non-compliance by working cooperatively with business stakeholders, escalating to the Data Protection Principal when appropriate.

Be the primary point of contact for data privacy queries from all parts of the business in southern Africa, respond to business queries and escalate to the Data Protection Principal when appropriate.

Prepare final drafts of any required updates and changes to the Group Data Privacy Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines.

Prepare materials for the Data Privacy Steering Committee meetings, the Digital Solutions Governance Board meetings and support local teams with preparing materials for local committee meetings.

Prepare and manage the deployment of data privacy compliance global training to the business across southern Africa.

Monitor and ensure that fit-for-purpose records of the company’s data processing activities are in place for southern Africa, that meet regulatory requirements.

Manage and oversee the work completed by external consultants and vendors to ensure their work is completed to agreed cost and quality requirements.

Manage the network of data privacy "champions" across the southern African business units by preparing for the periodic network meetings.

Monitor emerging Privacy regulation in South Africa, Namibia, Boswana and Zimbabwe, and adjust Policies and Procedures accordingly.

As required, lead and support on global projects that expand beyond Southern Africa region.

IM Strategy Formulation, Project and Programme Initiation, Program & Project Management, People & Culture Management, Risk Management & Vendor Management.

**Safety Knowledge**: Provides a consistent outstanding role model in relation to safety practices with a deep understanding of the importance of safety.

A technical undergraduate qualification (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).

Formal certification in Data Privacy or Risk Management discipline.

Excellent written and spoken English essential for preparing board level papers.

Poise and communication skill to present at Data Privacy Steering Committee.

Working understanding risk and compliance management techniques.

Good understanding of relevant data privacy regulation (POPIA).

Mining or other heavy industry process understanding.
