My client based in northern Johannesburg is looking for an Accounting Assistant, a go getter, who is organised, reliable and detail orientated.

**Roles and responsibilities**:

- Sage/Pastel Evolution experience
- Administer proper coding and manage invoices and document all processes and systems
- Monitor all account payable checks, prepare invoices for all and prepare updates on all accounts
- Maintain files on all account receivables and update records as required
- Manage monthly journals, update entries and maintain sub ledger for fixed assets
- Perform research, reconcile all bank accounts and resolves all issues in processes
- Ensure efficient client services and provide administration support
- Maintain all files and invoices
- Assist accountants and prepare all financial data and reports
- Ordering of office supplies and monthly groceries etc
- Submit annual returns and adhoc changes on CIPC
- Coordinate with management and provide operational support
- Assist with general HR and Accounting processes and admin
- Collate excel reports for billing
- Capturing of invoices and bank statements on Pastel
- Assist with VAT / EMP / Tax returns Knowledge
- Capture of printer readings and generate reports
- Check supplier invoices against PO’s
- Executed all correspondence in a professional manner and in line with standards and protocols of the organisation
- Punctual follow-up and feedback on client queries
- Manage petty cash and tuck shop
- Coordinate with management and provide operational support
- Collate excel reports for billing
- Capturing of invoices and bank statements on Pastel
- Capture of printer readings and generate reports
- Check supplier invoices against PO’s
- Executed all correspondence in a professional manner and in line with standards and protocols of the organisation
- Punctual follow-up and feedback on client queries

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years experience in finance department or similar
- Essential - Grade 12 / Matric with Math's Literacy NSC (National Senior Certificate) achievement level 5 (60% - 69% = adequate achievement)
- Essential - NQF Level 6 Accreditation (Accounting diploma)
- Beneficial - NQF Level 7 Accreditation (Accounting degree)

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Accounting software packages
- Understanding of Software Applications
