SCRAP GRADER

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and co-ordinate Scrap yard activities and personnel
- Perform inspections, identify non-conformances & initiate corrective actions
- Plan & utilize resources effectively to facilitate the timely replenishment of scrap inventory levels
- Facilitate the supply of quality input materials to the Steel plant within the required time
- Weigh bridge / scale operation
- Raw material / Scrap - Grading, Receiving, Inspection & Dispatching operation
- Perform physical Scrap inventory counts
- Assure Quality and Safe working practices
- Assist with training of personnel
- Report incidents, non-conformances, etc. in a timely manner
- Establish good internal customer relationships
- Inter-department liaison
- 4 shift rotating pattern

Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Must have Grade 12/N3 - NQF 4
- Knowledge of various scrap types
- 2 years’ experience in the Scrap supply environment
- Good knowledge of Scrap management process, logistics & scrap grading standards
- Good knowledge of scrap receiving, grading, sorting and segregation
- Red card medically fit (no fear for heights, climb stairs, estimate distance and height, good sight and hearing).
- Excavator/ Grab driver competency
- Read/write/speak English
- Computer literate (MS Windows, MS Office, SAP)

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Germiston, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
