Kaizen Technician

**Global Shipping and Logistics company has a Fixed Term contract position available for a Red Seal Fitter, with experience in automotive fitment and spray-painting to be site based in Pretoria region. Valid code 08 driver's license with no endorsements required.**

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Standox, PPG or Spies Hecker spray painting qualification advantageous
- Able to work in a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure as well as work flexible hours, may be required to work weekends and overtime
- A valid Code B (08) driver’s license with no endorsements
- PDR certification
- At least one-year relevant experience in vehicle logistics environment
- Must have basic computer knowledge (Full MS Suite,)
- Familiar with Kaizen Methodology
- Welding and metal work experience

**Duties**:

- Development and maintenance of tools and equipment to improve operational processes and member ergonomics:

- Design, document and develop jigs, tools, and equipment to improve operational processes;
- Study member flow toward improving ergonomics;
- Responsible to monitor the tool and equipment register ensuring all tools and equipment maintenance schedules are adhered to;
- Conduct bi-weekly stock take of tools and equipment;
- Ensure all torque tools are correctly calibrated and certified; and
- Responsible for conducting training for fitters
- Responsible for maintenance in the PIO department
- Ensure all repairs and fitments are conducted according to company and quality standards and procedures:

- Conduct paint-less dent removal repairs in line with customer requirements using correct PDR tools;
- Conduct SMART and SPOT repairs;
- Conduct mechanical inspections on vehicles if required; and
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures for SMART repairs.
- Required to perform any task not specified above as and when required by management.
- Oversee the vehicle spray painting procedures:

- Ensure vehicles are spray painted according to company and quality standards and requirements; and
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures for spray painting procedures in line with vehicle quality standards.
- Conduct quality inspections with the assistance of the checker or assessor; and
- Ensure all repairs are completed in line with the highest quality standards prior to releasing vehicles.
- Ensure that all health and safety practices are adhered to in the department and report any non-conformances or risks to the SHEQ Coordinator on site
- Ensure department adheres to ISO 9001 Quality Processes and standards
- Ensure department adheres to ISO 14001 Environmental Processes and standards
- Ensure department adheres to ISO 45001 Health and Safety standards
