**Field Guide**

Klaserie Game Reserve, Mpumalanga exclusive 5* Game lodge

The field Guide will be required to guide guests, by vehicle, providing the highest Game experience for the guests.

Assist the Safari department with the administrative operation of departments and mentorship/leadership of the field guides. Field Guiding and give guest introductory and safety orientations.

Conduct guided game drives with guests.

Basic interpretation and identification of prints.

Assist trackers in locating game through the art of tracking.

To facilitate and assist with guest queries and requests.

Set up morning and evening game drive drink stops.

Guest transfers to/from the lodge.

Basic vehicle and equipment care maintenance.

Standby functions on a rotational basis.

Assist in Incident Management in the event of medical emergency, fire, flood lodge

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of 3 - 4 years work experience as a Senior Field Guide in a 5* - Big 5 Game Lodge
- A Professional FGASA Professional Field Guide qualification
- DEAT and THETA.
- Passed the rifle assessment as well as the trails guide examination
- SASSETA Certificate
- Trails Guide certificate
- Valid first aid certificate
- SASSETA Certificates
- A valid South African Code 8 Driver’s license and PDP
- Signed company's Driver’s Code of Conduct
- Excellent communication and people handling skills
- Leadership skills with passion for development
- An inherent passion for observing, sharing and learning about wildlife
- The ability to work on his/her own with enthusiasm
- Ensures the highest quality of game experience for the guests.

Matric

At least 2-3 years’ experience in similar role FGASA Level 1 or 2 - NQF2 or 4

Valid First Aid certificate Drivers and PDP license.

Excellent Communication skills

Team player with team management skills

Knowledge of Weapon handling, safety, proficiency, and operating procedures

**Salary R 9 000 - R 10 000 ** including single accommodation and company benefits.

**Gratuities over and above the amount of the salary.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Experience**:

- Guiding in Big 5 Game Reserve: 3 years (preferred)
- Guiding 5* Game Lodge: 3 years (preferred)
- ARH: 3 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- PDP License (preferred)
