PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The purpose of this role is to manage the operational responsibilities and staff of the Fabrication Casting section, which includes the Small Bar Plant and London good delivery bars - both gold and silver.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO
- Meet orders as per Treasury requirements, timeously, at the right quality and quantity.
- Work towards ensuring that there’s zero customer complaints - finished product produced complies with required LBMA and customer requirements.
- TECO’ing of process orders and daily SAP stock management.
- Immediate investigation of any anomalies outside of a 50 g discrepancy on 100 kg on granules from other departments.
- Presence on the floor during production in all areas.
- Enforce adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
- Enforce SHERQ and compliance to local and Rand Refinery requirements.
- Incident investigation - recorded, investigated and closed within 48 hours. Cross-functional interactions with all parties as required to resolve.
- Manage Isometrix and Risk analysis.
- Oversee Permit to work and on-going compliance.
- Report near-misses and incidents timeously.
- Ensure control of consumables e.g. - PPE, cleaning material and stationery.
- Mould control and maximum life out of consumables.
- Ensure accurate stock is managed both physically and on SAP with daily, weekly and monthly stocks checks being managed and monitored with Supervisors.
- Manage employees effectively with performance management, ensuring that discipline is maintained and that the Labour Relations Act is adhered to in conjunction with the HR Department. Ensure that there is a well-disciplined workforce, mínimal hearings and grievances.
- Develop, maintain and train subordinates on SOP, while ensuring PJOs are in date and continued compliance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric qualification, passed with Mathematics and Science.
- BEng./ BTech. (Chemical, Metallurgy or Industrial Instrumentation) qualification.
- Supervisory Development Programme.
- Must have acquired 5—8 years of industry experience, with at least 3 years of having served in a Supervisory position.

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES
- Computer proficiency — MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint), SAP, Qlikview, CURA and IsoMetrix.
- Interpersonal skills — have sound communication skills, which allows you to provide clear direction to subordinates.
- Supervisory and leadership skills.

KNOWLEDGE
- Industrial manufacturing process knowledge — understand how the manufacturing procedures operate.
- SHEQ knowledge — able to comply and support SHEQ procedures.
- Quality knowledge and relevant standards—Have a complete understanding of being in compliance with ISO 9001 2018, ISO 45001, LBMA and the carrying out of the lockout procedures.
