**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Preparation and completion of request for tax information letters
- Requesting information, accurately calculating, completing and understanding client income tax returns in respect of the following:
IT12 (Individual)

IT14 (Company)

IT12 (Trust)

IT12EI (Exempt institutions)
- Preparation and submission of supporting documents as per SARS requirements
- Download, capturing and checking of assessments and preparation of letters
- Resolving queries from SARS and clients regarding all tax matters
- Accurately preparing, calculating and submission of IRP6 provisional tax returns in respect of the first, second and third periods for all year ends. Correspondence sent to clients and submission of provisional returns to SARS
- Preparation and attending to various tax payments on behalf of clients
- Meeting and liaising with clients regarding tax matters when necessary
- Application for Tax Clearance Certificates in respect of good standing, tenders, immigration and foreign investments
- Application for all Tax Directives which includes preparation of estimated income and expenses statements
- Following up on Tax Refunds and assessments not yet finalized by SARS
- Maintaining ProfTax i.e. data capturing, add/edit clients etc
- Checking new clients tax status when taking on new clients
- Register new clients and maintain client data base on e-filing
- Prepare files for handover to clients resigning
- Notify SARS of change of year ends, conversions and name changes and other amendments
- Meeting with SARS tax practitioner’s unit to resolve client queries urgently
- Attending to EMP501 reconciliations and IRP5 / IT3(a) certificates including gathering and compiling payroll schedules
- Tax billings - preparing of Pro Forma tax invoice based on clients work in progress report and meeting with Director to discuss and approve
- Assisting Audit department with tax information
- Send clients correspondence regarding tax deadlines
- Implementing SARS amendments to the tax act
- Tax training to clerks, vacation students and job shadow workers, training of junior staff
- Completion and submission of PAYE and VAT returns based on information provided by clients
- Checking of tax computations for companies and exempt institutions
- Dealing with SARS monitoring office in respect of tax related issues with SARS
- Dealing with SARS Large Business Centre with regards to various queries
- Preparation of ADR’s, notice of objections, disputes to penalty assessments, notice of appeals in respect of Income tax, administrative penalties
- Calculation of Capital Gains including time apportionment method
- Attending to engagement letter and special power of attorneys required for tax work to be done
- Preparation and completion of turnover tax returns
- Analysis of PAYE, UIF and VAT accounts and preparation of reconciliation thereof in respect of unallocated payments
- Attending to deregistration of Income tax, VAT and PAYE
- COID registration and annual ROE submission and attending to audit and de-registration

**Desired experience and Qualification**
- Tax Qualification
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- ProfTax experience will be advantageous
- Is highly presentable and confident
- Has strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Has exceptional analytical skills with a passion for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Has the ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Has the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Has outstanding time management skills
- Has strong administration skills and a good understanding of organizational processes and practices

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Accounting/Audit firm: 2 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English and Afrikaans (preferred)
