Our client, a leading manufacturer of filling equipment for the bag-in-box market, wants to appoint a Design Draughtsman at their plant in Epping, Cape Town. The ideal person will have tertiary draughtsman qualification and at least 5 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of the Solid Works design programme is essential.

**Responsibilities**:

- The person will be responsible for designing products and moulds for manufacturing purposes.
- The job incumbent drafts concept designs and converts them into detailed 3D designs using a design programme (Solid Works).
- The Design Draughtsman ensures that the manufacturing phase occurs as specified in the design specifications and is responsible for project administration (costing, number allocation, component stock control and labour costs).

**Requirements**:

- Relevant draughtsman qualification
- Minimum of 5 years design experience in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanically minded
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent multi-tasking ability
- Good planning and coordination skills
- Good language and communication skills (English)
- Practical problem solving ability
- Practical insight ability
- Computer literate (MS Office and Solid Works)
- Good management skills

**Salary**: R18,000.00 - R22,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Epping, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Certificate (required)

**Experience**:

- design draughtsman in a manufacturing industry: 5 years (required)
- SolidWorks design: 3 years (required)
