Gearbox Builder

Krypton Mining is seeking a skilled Gearbox Builder with experience working on Mercedes, Hino, Freightliner, UD, and Volvo Trucks. As a Gearbox Builder, you will be responsible for repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining truck gearboxes & differentials. Your role will involve working on a variety of truck models, ensuring that the gearboxes and differentials are functioning optimally and meeting the required specifications.

**Responsibilities**:

- Gearbox Repair and Rebuilding: Disassemble, inspect, and repair or rebuild gearboxes for Mercedes, Hino, Freightliner, UD, and Volvo Trucks.
- Parts Identification: Identify and order the necessary parts required for gearbox repairs or replacements.
- Diagnostic Assessment: Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify gearbox & differential issues, including analysing performance problems and identifying worn or damaged components.
- Gearbox & Diff Assembly: Reassemble gearboxes & differentials according to specifications.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on completed gearboxes & diffs to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
- Testing and Adjustment: Perform testing and adjustments to ensure the proper functioning of gearboxes & diffs after repairs or rebuilds. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all gearbox & diff repairs, parts used, and work performed.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area.

**Requirements**:

- Experience: Proven experience as a Gearbox & Diff Builder, preferably with a focus on Mercedes, Hino, Freightliner, UD, and Volvo Trucks.
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of truck gearboxes, differentials, and steering boxes, including disassembly, repair, and assembly techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously inspect and identify gearbox & differential issues and perform precise repairs or rebuilds.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot gearbox & Diff problems effectively.
- Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using various hand tools and specialised equipment required for gearbox & diff repairs.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritise tasks to meet repair deadlines.
- Communication: Good communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and customers effectively.
- Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols and procedures.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Initiative: Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
