Agricultural Planner

**Job Advert Summary**:
Rainbow is looking for an individual for the Agricultural Planner position available in Worcester Western Cape to co-ordinate the operational volume plan through the entire agric supply chain to ensure sustainability on long term slaughter volume.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance or related experience

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**1. **Planning**:
Long Term Placements on Rearing & Laying, Broiler Farms

Volume, Planning and Eggs through to Chicks

Budget KPI’s & Volumes

Balance Supply and ahead in order to meet Budget Volumes to processing

Co-ordination Farm activity schedule to support Contract Services

**2. **Data & Reporting**

**Volume Control**

Make sure that the Hatchery volumes are correct to ensure correct amount of eggs are produced by Hatcheries

Updates set plans received from Hatcheries and distributes to Hatcheries

Obtains Hatchery forecast from Hatchery Manager to determine whether adequate chick to birds will be produced

Makes alternative plans when chick to bird quantities are inadequate

Obtains volume figures from Broilers as well as from the Processing Plant in order to draw up actual

Updates volume files on Excel spread sheet

Submits weekly variance report to Head Planner

Compares budget v actual and report on discrepancies

**Egg Stock and Egg Production Reports**

Obtains egg stock and egg production and hatchery reports from previous week in order to provide figures to the egg bank to ascertain an adequate supply or eggs for selling purposes

Ensures correct forecast of egg production

Investigate variances on incorrect reports received

Aligns actual to egg bank

Monitors egg bank planning

**Preparation of Supply Chain Report**

Provides Head Planner with supply chain report for checkhing purposes

Provides information on reduction of chicken volume

Makes sure that actual figures are correct

**Preparation of Slaughter Program**

Compiles daily and weekly slaughtering program on MTech

Builds and reconciles slaughter program

Investigates and corrects discrepancies and provide comment

**Weekly Functions**

Prepares placement schedule on Excel spread sheet for farms

Makes sure that placement schedule is correct to ensure correct amount of chicks are on ground and in houses

Prepares slaughtering program and chick placement to ensure correct time allocation between slaughterens and placements

Provides weekly report reflecting actual vs budget amounts
