Mechanical Engineering Technician

My client, based in the beautiful mother city Cape Town, has a new and exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Engineering Technician. They are a strong and establishing company, established in the mid 1980's.
They provide both professional services and equipment to the industrial energy sector, primarily those systems fired on agricultural waste products and bagasse.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Job description / core competencies:
Detailed design and drawing generation, checking of drawings.
Inspection and testing of equipment being procured or manufactured.
Site work including boiler and ancillary equipment inspections, surveys, supervision of installation and maintenance, commissioning assistance.
Assisting with the procurement processes and export logistics.
Assisting with general drawing office and standards administration.

Travel requirements: Willingness to travel locally and internationally as well as willingness to travel and work on weekends and holidays as required.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
National Diploma [NQF6] or Advanced Diploma [NQF7]. Advanced Diploma preferred.
Minimum experience: 2 years drawing office experience
Competent in the Microsoft Office Suite
Fluent and highly literate in the English language
Strong work ethic
Good health, fitness and agility (site work is demanding)
Unendorsed valid driver’s license
Own vehicle
No criminal record
Passport
