**Job description**
- Effective cost control through efficient risk management practices
- Effective self-management in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
- Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
- Effective implementation, monitoring and reporting of all risks and safety processes
- Conduct accurate, timely risk and legal inspection audits and communicate recommendations
- Conduct fact findings investigations and determine the cause of trends from investigations
- Effective and efficient risk administration
- Proactive risk identification, mitigation and compliance

**Minimum requirements**
- Grade 12 or NQF level 4 equivalent
- National Diploma in Safety / Risk Management or equivalent at NQF level 6
- Blasting Certificate (essential)
- SAMSOC 1 & 2 (essential)
- Investigation / Tap Root training (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint]
- Audit certification for ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining sector
- Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and principle
- Understanding of accident / incident techniques
- Basic knowledge of relevant safety principle and systems
- Knowledge and understanding of strata control
- Ability to conduct investigation and record findings
- Hazard identification skills
- Problem solving mindset with an ability to make sound recommendations
