WE'RE LOOKING FOR A MATERNITY RELIEF PROOFREADER...

Are you a versatile proofreader with an in-depth understanding of digital channels?

The successful applicant will be able to work across various target markets, platforms and channels. They’ll ideally have retail experience as an advantage (but not essential) and will be able to keep a cool head, while delivering exceptional results, under pressure. They’ll be able to multitask and manage a multitude of personalities, as well as different types of job requests. They'll need to be a people person who can work collaboratively in a team.

The ShopriteX Digital Design Studio is a dynamic team of 13 creatives who create a wide range of content for the Shoprite Group’s integrated, omnichannel campaigns, as well as internal media.

From Checkers and Shoprite Xtra Savings to Sixty60, Rainmaker and beyond.

Role Summary:

- Proofread and edit all material created by the Digital Design Studio
- Adhering to and checking all company and legal rules when proofreading
- Ensure copy is in line with the style guide of the particular brand
- Check the final sign-off of proofs before they go to clients/customers
- Forming part of special projects where necessary to assist with processes from a proof point of view

Minimum relevant experience and skills/attributes required:

- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teams)
- A good command of both English and Afrikaans languages (superb language skills)
- At least 2 years’ working experience in Proofreading and Editing
- Solid understanding of digital platforms in conjunction with traditional channels
- Experience in and knowledge of Figma (will be advantageous, not essential)
- Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
- A proven understanding of retail marketing and advertising
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to interpret briefs
- Confident to guide team members
