**QUALIFICATIONS**
- B Eng degree / Bsc Degree / B-Tech / N.Dip in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

**SKILLS REQUIREMENTS**
- At least 8 years’ experience in Ferro Alloy or heavy industry, backed by minimum 3 years in a management position.
- Experience in crushing and screening plant operation especially metal extraction plant.
- Experience on thickeners, clarifiers, dams, conveyor belts, crushers, screens, vibrator feeders, feed bins.
- Project Management experience is required and experience with managing large scale project of more than R100million will be advantageous.
- Tailings Facility experience will be advantageous.
- Good communication, interpersonal and management skills
- English communication and computer literacy is essential
- Initiative and result orientated
- Coupa knowledge and experience
- Good knowledge of the HSEC system

**JOB OBJECTIVES**

**In this role you will be responsible**
**to the Works Manager for the following**:

- Management of people to create high performance teams through inclusivity and diversity.
- Ensuring safety principles is applied consistently within the MEP team and people is aligned to the company values. This includes adherence to Glencore and statutory requirements for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality aspects.
- Management of daily production activities at MEP including performance targets such as volumes, availabilities and losses.
- Management of transport contractor for MEP.
- Management of Tailings Facility operation, legal requirements and service providers within the Glencore Tailings Management Standard which is aligned to GISTM.
- Construction, commissioning and operations of tailings storage facility and associated equipment.
- Re-engineering, optimization and improvements. Scope of responsibilities include the ensuring of quality maintenance done on equipment in the area of responsibility
- Perform general administrative duties and/or any other duties as required by the HOD/Manager
