- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, processes, and standards
- Design and test necessary prototypes / experiments in support of design and project objectives.
- Ensure employee safety is a top priority in all manufacturing processes
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for management decisions
- Troubleshoot processes in response to process upsets and customer complaints
- Provide technical leadership on all product and process issues and line performance monitoring
- Craft and analyze mechanical systems, with focus on tight tolerance machine design and high speed manufacturing systems
- Inspect, install, and commission proprietary equipment in manufacturing facilities
- Lead or participate in Kaizen events focused on process improvement and waste reduction
- Collaborate with new product development to develop production level processes for manufacturing
- Use Lean Manufacturing skills to support smooth, even flow in manufacturing and produce products that conform to customer requirements
- Communicate manufacturing capabilities, capacity, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes
- Use data analytics to support process design and control
- Confer with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts

**Qualifications**:

- Engineering degree and 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing focused on coating and lamination in flexible packaging environment
- Solid working knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring experience preferred
- High level of computer literacy to support data analytics
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and perform process analysis
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen events advantageous
- Knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
