**Kumba Iron Ore**

We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

**Job Description**:

- As Manager SIB Projects you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Ensure SIB Project alignment with business strategy to contribute to the achievement of outcomes.
- Align SIB Projects with Group on Mining Strategy, as they relate to RDPs and LOAPs.
- Influence, collaborate and align with Mining/AS&R/Growth Projects on opportunity identification (ensuring robust handover points).
- Lead the SIB business, providing strategic direction and leadership.
- Approve integrated, cross-functional Project Execution Plans in alignment with Anglo American standards.
- Ensure the delivery of detailed engineering definitions aligned with project scope and business objectives [Direct output, owns decision rights, managerial authority], and exercise decision rights and executive authority in this process.
- Identify, implement, and provide technical advice, support and reviews to various project teams where required to ensure the achievement of project objectives
- Establish a center of excellence for SIB projects.
- Provide technical consulting to projects and operations.
- Integrate the Sustainable Mining Plan commitments into the SIB Project's 5-year plan, ensure sufficient resources, support site-specific integration, comply with environmental and social requirements, identify risks, translate opportunities, and foster awareness of sustainability within the discipline for effective decision-making.

**This role is in the SIB & Construction Management (CON) at a Band 5 level reporting to Head of Technical & Projects.**

**Qualifications
- Qualifications**
- Relevant B-degree in Project Management - Prescribed
- Relevant postgraduate degree - Preferred Drivers License

**Experience**
- Extensive knowledge of mining project development and execution ,
- Extensive operational and project knowledge on large capital projects across several global mining businesses.
- Knowing how to deal with third parties (e.g., contractors).
- Track record in leading multiple projects, preferably with significant emphasis on Iron Ore.
- Knowledgeable in mentoring junior/mid-level managers towards achieving organisational objectives.
- Good track record of interfacing with and influencing senior executives - Good understanding of mining and extractive industries.
- Wide knowledge base across a variety of commodity groups.
- Demonstrated experience of being involved in, and preferably leading, business improvement programmes and project management.
