**Medical Receptionist, Ophthalmology Practice, Alberton**
Our client a Specialist Ophthalmologist based in Alberton is seeking to recruit a medical receptionist.
**Responsibilities;**
- Receiving all patients, walk-ins and service providers
- Switchboard duties (Day/Night switch, incoming and outgoing calls)
- Appointment diary bookings and management confirming all appointments and cancellations
- Managing on-call list
- Billing and card and cash payments of all patients and obtaining authorisations
- Administration and filing duties
- Medical aid liaison
- Checking consent forms are signed
- Typing of medical letters
- Stock taking
- Ensuring referral letters are received and filed
**Qualification and Requirements**:
- At least 3 years experience in a similar medical receptionist position
- Understands medical billing and coding and working with confidential information
- Experience with Elixir Live is preferred
- Experience in an Ophthalmology practice is essential
