**Job Advert Summary**:
Primary responsibility is to conduct analytical testing of samples and materials in a reliable and accurate manner, report results on time and ensure that laboratory operations run smoothly whilst complying to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and accuracy.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Matric with Maths and Science as a minimum
- Tertiary education would be of an advantage
- Knowledge of XRF, AA & wet chemistry techniques.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 and LIMS
- Problem solving skills
- Reporting skills with attention to detail
- Communication Skills
- Computer Literate

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Accurate, reliable and timeous analytical results of samples customers
- Ensure all scheduled samples tested as required.
- Recording of results both in the data books and on LIMS.
- Assist in maintaining quality system and retaining accreditation.
- Reporting any deviations or problems to the Laboratory Manager.
- Ensuring maintenance and calibration schedules are followed.
- Knowledge of safety procedures.
- Housekeeping.
- Deviations investigated and reported.
- Assist in improving the common performance goals of QAS.
- ISO 17025 Procedures
- Sampling of materials
- Preparing smaples for testing
- Material testing procedures
- Test methods and specifications for tests carried out
- Basic equipment maintenance
- Basic planning of work and scheduling
