Hvac Commissioning Technician

As HVAC and Refrigeration Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for providing commissioning and installation services on a range of planned / unplanned projects as well as providing customer and in-house technical support services as per service level agreements. In addition, you will be required to carry out your role whilst maintaining company, industry, and safety standards.

All duties should be performed aligned to ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System for the area of responsibility.

**1. Commissioning Services and Support**
- Installation and commissioning of HVAC and Refrigeration Systems / Equipment
- Conduct site surveys and completion of the necessary documentation
- Supervise and test product final stages of system installation
- Examine and run tests and perform repairs/alterations where necessary.
- Ensuring all systems are compliant as per plan and specifications.
- Inspect the work/tooling / equipment and determine spare and consumable requirements.
- Generate work requisitions for scheduled maintenance work (type of repair or maintenance, spare quantities, time, etc.)

**2. Compliance Management**
- Compile periodic reports (monthly, weekly, on request) reports and submit them to management;
- Attend weekly scheduled department teams and clients
- Adhere to company, industry, and safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Completion of all project and mandatory administration
- Ensuring all safety procedures are followed

**3. People Management**
- Provide on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Oversight of a small technical team

**4. Technical Support and Maintenance**
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence;
- Offer technical support to customers through quick identification and diagnosis of faulty equipment.
- Identifying defects in components, and wiring, and finding solutions to solve these defects.
- Fault finding and repairs of existing equipment on site.
- Maintenance and repairs of HVAC Units and systems.
- Conduct job inspections and observations on subcontractors (where relevant)
- Reassembling required equipment to repair

**5. Client Engagement**
- Attending to customer complaints and problem-solving;
- Attend client meetings (where relevant)
- Liaise with clients/contractors within the given time periods on a regular basis to meet and exceed service expectations.

**Minimum Experience**:

- 5 - 10 Years HVAC Industry / Service Experience (compulsory)
- 3 - 5 years Commissioning experience
- 3 Years experience within field post obtaining Trade Qualification and Higher Diploma
- Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
- Strong experience presenting to stakeholders
- Demonstrated good communication skills (both verbally and written with technical and non-technical staff, at all levels of management.

**Qualifications Required**:

- Matric / Grade 12
- B Tech / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferable)
- N2 - N6 Nated Certificate (Optional)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Trade Qualification as Refrigeration/Air conditioning Technician/Mechanic (Industrial/Commercial) (mandatory)

**Knowledge**:

- Sound knowledge of model numbers and unit capabilities (chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, split units, and VRF/VRV).
- Sound knowledge of project and shutdown duties.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering processes and practices, as well as within the HVAC and Refrigeration discipline.
- Intermediate proficiency with excel, word.
- Sound knowledge of construction and product standards.
