Production Manager

**Position Title: Production Manager**

**Reporting to: Operations Manager**

CAB Foods, the leading distributor of cooking and baking goodies is seeking a Production Manager to join our team of motivated employees. At CAB Foods, we pride ourselves in our premium customer experience. The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that the right quality products are delivered to our customer on time. As part of the FMCG industries it is of vital importance that quality products are always available on time.

**Duties to include**:
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Manage and coordinate all functions of the Production department to achieve targets most efficiently and cost-effective.
- Ensure efficient thorough planning to minimize risk to the organization through effectively managing company assets and maximizing processes and controls.
- Ensure all plans are updated, work orders are captured before leaving daily.
- Manage the production team to ensure alignment to the organisation as well as departmental goals, values, mission and vision.
- Implement and maintain targets and goals for the production teams, correct deviations and investigate shortfalls.
- Ensure all work meets and exceed the product specifications and standard of excellence.
- Ensure staff follow the company’s policies and procedures within all production plants.
- Minimize production lost sales due to not delivering on time.
- Setting up of weekly and monthly production reports
- Coordinate with the Quality department all quality related problems
- Monitor and maintain production budget, ensure production output is in line with company targets.
- Ensure that Food Safety and Quality Standards are always adhered to and remedial action is taken when required.
- Monitor and identify potential risk to the company regarding costs - increase in production cost, changes in production process (solutions and implement improvements)
- To drive the implementation of the world class manufacturing practices and any other organisational improvement projects

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Minimum of 3 years of production management experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment is required.
- Good understanding of new product development process
- Experience in implementing world class manufacturing practices / Lean manufacturing.
- Troubleshooting, fault finding & problem solving.
- A Grade 12 certificate is an essential requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma
- A high degree of numeracy and analytical thinking
- The ability to think and operate at a strategic level.
- A detailed and methodical approach to work
- Resilience and emotional maturity
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced computer skills with experience managing data
- Excellent interpersonal skills

**Salary**: R35,000.00 - R45,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Bottelary, Western Cape: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Retail: 3 years (preferred)
