**Requirements**:

- Vocational Certificates: Higher Certificate in Fire Technology or

Senior Firefighter Certificate in Fire Technology or Level 3 Certificate in

Fire Science, Operations, Fire Safety and Management or

Intermediate Certificate or Fire Instructor 2 Certificate, Fire Officer 2

Certificate, Wildland Officer 2 Certificate, Fire Inspector 1 Certificate,

Plans Examiner 1 Certificate,

OR
- Academic qualifications: Higher Certificate in Management: Fire

Technology or 1st Exit Level of 4 Year Tertiary Diploma in Fire Service

Technology

AND
- Hazmat Operations Certificate

registered with HPCSA
- Minimum six (6) years’ firefighting experience with two (2) years’

experience at Senior Firefighter level in a recognised Fire Service
- A valid Code C1 driver’s licence and valid PrDP
- Pump Operator course
- No criminal record.
- Be physically fit & able bodied

Key Performance Areas
- Dealing with emergency incidents and other humanitarian services
- Attending to firefighting displays and associated campaigns
- Communicating information relating to fire safety
- Conducting fire safety inspections
- Ensuring compliance with prescribed equipment maintenance

schedules and effecting repairs where possible in order to contribute

to ensure operational readiness and reduction of damage to

equipment
- Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Assisting the Station Commander in preparing station estimates
- Compiling and preparing reports
- Undertaking supervisory and line functional personnel-related

functions
